Domino players struck
Some bullets hit older men playing dominos nearby. Police said a 65-year-old was shot in the leg and a 70-year-old in the hand, and both are expected to survive.
Eight shot in a week
The two men were part of a broader burst of violence: eight people were struck in four separate shootings inside the precinct last week.
One man killed
Police said three people were shot last Monday on University Avenue. A 43-year-old man died after being shot in the head.
Local numbers rose
NYPD stats show 32 shooting victims in the precinct so far this year, up from 26 at the same point last year, a rise of about 23%.
Citywide shootings fell
Police say the wider city trend is moving the other way, with shooting incidents down nearly 10% this year. No arrests have been made in last week's four precinct shootings.
