A late night flight home
Rep. Tom Tiffany was flying back from the La Crosse County Lincoln Day Dinner late Saturday when the trip stopped going to plan.
Power gone on approach
The light aircraft lost power as it neared Wausau Downtown Airport, leaving the pilot no runway to reach.
Put it down in the water
The pilot made an emergency landing in Lake Wausau. Both men ended up in the water.
Call 911, then swim
They called for help, got out as the plane started sinking, and swam to a shallow spot to wait for a rescue boat.

Minor injuries only
Responders took Tiffany and the pilot to a nearby hospital, where both were treated for minor injuries. The plane was a single-engine, four-seat Bonanza.
A rival says thank you
Tiffany is running for Wisconsin governor with Trump's endorsement. Democratic candidate David Crowley posted that he was grateful nobody was hurt and praised the pilot.
