Dolly's last recording with U2

Dolly Parton recorded a duet with Bono for U2's new album 'Carnaval de Luz'. The song, called 'Torn', closes the album and marks her final vocal recording.
Bono on Parton's performance

Bono told Rolling Stone that Parton 'sang her heart out' and said he cannot believe that's an eighty-year-old woman singing with such power and emotion.
“She sang her heart out. And I cannot believe that's an 80-year-old woman.”
Recording despite illness
The song was recorded in June. After Parton got ill, she got out of her bed to sing the song. Bono said you can hear her dedication in the recording.
“And you can hear that. And I can't even listen to it now.”
How 'Torn' came together
Bono first approached Parton for an unreleased side project inspired by Irish folk music, but she said it was a little too Irish for her. She introduced 'Torn' instead.
