Second attack on Riyadh airport

King Khalid International Airport in Saudi Arabia's capital has been attacked for the second time in two days. Operations have been suspended by the Saudi Civil Aviation Authority.

First strike killed three people

On Thursday, at least three Saudi citizens, including a pilot, were killed in an attack at the airport according to the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation.

Hundreds of flights cancelled

At least two hundred twenty five flights at King Khalid International Airport had been cancelled over the past twenty four hours, according to flight-tracking site FlightAware.

Escalation follows Saudi offensive

The attacks come after a Saudi-led coalition launched a major military offensive against Houthi rebels in neighbouring Yemen, amid fighting between the Houthis and Saudi-backed Yemeni government forces.
