One year on, ceasefire fails

More than one hundred humanitarian and human rights organisations say Gaza's ceasefire, reached with United States backing one year ago, exists only on paper.
“The ceasefire exists in name only, with Israeli forces continuing to kill and injure Palestinians daily”
Fourteen hundred killed since deal
Israeli attacks in Gaza have killed more than fourteen hundred Palestinians, including at least three hundred twenty-seven children, since US President Trump announced the ceasefire as part of the Gaza Board of Peace framework.
Nearly one child killed daily
Since the October tenth, twenty twenty-five ceasefire was announced, nearly one child has been killed every day, according to Inger Ashing, chief executive of Save the Children.
“A ceasefire is meaningless if children are still being killed and families are still unable to rebuild their lives.”
Three years of war's toll
In the three years since Israel's October twenty twenty-three war began, more than seventy-four thousand Palestinians have been killed and one hundred seventy-five thousand others wounded, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
Hospitals overwhelmed, supplies dwindling

Gaza's few remaining health facilities are overwhelmed with dwindling supplies.None of its thirty-six hospitals operates at full capacity, and more than eighteen thousand five hundred patients, including at least four thousand children, need medical evacuation.
Restrictions block rebuilding
Almost two million Palestinians need shelter as eighty percent of structures are damaged. Israeli restrictions continue to prevent the equipment and construction materials needed for communities to rebuild their lives.
“Israeli restrictions are still preventing the required equipment or materials, which are the only ways for communities to begin rebuilding their lives.”
Amnesty calls for accountability
Agnes Callamard, secretary-general of Amnesty International, says the persistent failure to hold Israel accountable and press compliance with International Court of Justice orders continues to fuel atrocity crimes against Palestinians.
“Accountability cannot be buried under the rubble.”
The short version
Over one hundred NGOs say Gaza's year-old ceasefire exists only on paper, with Israeli forces killing more than fourteen hundred Palestinians since the deal and aid restrictions preventing recovery.
