Classic Rock Songs From Different Decades
Three classic rock songs sound like they belong in a different decade.
In brief
Three classic rock songs sound like they belong in a different decade. The Beach Boys' 'All I Wanna Do', David Bowie & Queen's 'Under Pressure', and The Stooges' 'I Wanna Be Your Dog' each sound like they were released a decade later. Originally reported by American Songwriter.
All I Wanna Do
The Beach Boys' song sounds like a 2010s dream pop track despite being from the 1970s.
“All I wanna do / Is always bring good to you / To give you all the love I can / And help you in whatever you do”
Under Pressure
David Bowie and Queen's song feels like a 1990s alternative rock hit from the 1980s.
“Cause love's such an old-fashioned word / And love dares you to care for / The people on the edge of the night / And love dares you to change our way of / Caring about ourselves / This is our last dance”
I Wanna Be Your Dog
The Stooges' song was a 1960s punk rock track that predicted the genre a decade early.
“So messed up, I want you here / In my room, I want you here / Now we’re gonna be face-to-face / And I’ll lay right down in my favorite place / And now I wanna be your dog”
