Blade Runner 2099 trailer unveiled

Prime Video showed the full trailer for Blade Runner 2099 at New York Comic-Con this weekend. Co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Hunter Schafer joined showrunner Silka Luisa onstage for the reveal.

The replicants have won

The series is set fifty years after Blade Runner twenty forty-nine. Showrunner Silka Luisa said the replicant uprising has taken place and humans have lost. The creations have surpassed their creators.

What happens when our time ends

Luisa described the show's central question as what happens when one species ends and another rises. The first film examined mortality on a micro level. This show asks the same question on a macro level.

Yeoh plays the dying replicant

Michelle Yeoh stars as Olwen, the dying replicant, while Hunter Schafer plays Cora. The cast also includes Hugo Hamlet as Buster Friendly and eight other actors in undisclosed roles.

Eight episodes drop in November

Prime Video will release all eight episodes of Blade Runner twenty ninety-nine on November twenty-fifth, twenty twenty-six. The show had its first look at San Diego Comic-Con in July.

Godzilla Minus Zero trailer also shown

New York Comic-Con also featured a trailer for Godzilla Minus Zero, the sequel to Takashi Yamazaki's Godzilla Minus One, which won an Oscar for best visual effects.

Godzilla Minus Zero hits theaters

Godzilla Minus Zero hits theaters on November third, twenty twenty-six. Most of the main cast from Godzilla Minus One are returning, including Ryunosuke Kamiki as Kōichi and Minami Hamabe as Noriko.
