WRC expands calendar to 15 rounds

The World Rally Championship will expand to 15 rounds next year with confirmation the USA and the UK will make a return.

USA returns to WRC calendar

The WRC will return to the USA from 26-29 August 2027 after last appearing in 1988.

Scotland has agreed a three-year deal to bring the WRC back to the UK for the first time since 2019.

The Italian round moves from Sardinia to Rome’s asphalt roads for the first time.

Safari Rally Kenya returns

Safari Rally Kenya will return to the WRC calendar with a March date.

FIA confirms Kenya deal

FIA road sport director Emilia Abel says Kenya’s return is due to a common effort from all sides.

“I would say that kenya is part of the calendar very much due to a big common effort from all sides, from the fia, from the promoter, and the local asn. So how exactly the financial problem was faced, i believe these details are not important. I think what is important is that it was a common effort from all sides”

2027 WRC calendar details

The season begins in Monte Carlo and ends with seven consecutive gravel rallies in Saudi Arabia.

FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem says the WRC calendar reflects strong momentum with new events in the UK and Italy.
