The Real Star

The 2024 Shelby Super Snake S650 is the hero car in Liam Neeson's action film The Mongoose.

“Officially, the star of the new action thriller The Mongoose, opening October 30 in theaters everywhere, is Liam Neeson. But in reality, it’s a car. Neeson just drives it.”

830 Horsepower Engine

The car has 830+ horsepower from its Ford 5.0-liter Coyote V8 with a 3.0-liter Whipple supercharger.

Why the Super Snake?

The director and Shelby chose the Super Snake for its thematic connection to the mongoose and snake motifs in the film.

“Absolutely, yeah," director Mark Vanselow told Autoweek . "There’s, back in the drag racing days, the Snake and Mongoose, right? And then there’s the (1894 Rudyard Kipling story) Ricky Ticky Tavi (wherein an intrepid mongoose protects an English family from two cobras), and all those kinds of things. We definitely leaned into those things."”

Post-Traumatic Stress

Fang Flanagan struggles with post-traumatic stress after his combat experiences.

Chase Across States

The chase starts in Kentucky and moves through Tennessee, Arkansas, and Texas.

Veterans Screening Event

Shelby American arranges free screenings for veterans' groups in Las Vegas.

“There’s a big group coming to the movie with us,” said Vince LaViolette, Shelby American vp of production, whose relationship with the Special Forces Association made that possible. "The Special Forces Association will talk before the film about their group and what they do and how they help people with PTSD. We’re turning this into a charity event for Special Forces Association.”

Theater Release

The film opens in theaters October 30 with a focus on veteran support.
