Warrington lose Grand Final
Warrington Wolves lost to Wakefield Trinity twenty three ten in Saturday's Super League Grand Final at Old Trafford. It is Warrington's fifth losing final appearance on the competition's biggest stage.
Burgess confirms he will stay

Head coach Sam Burgess, thirty seven, has confirmed he will remain with Warrington for next year. He has not yet signed a contract for twenty twenty seven and beyond but has given his word to owner Simon Moran.
“I've not signed a contract yet but I've given my word to Simon Moran and that's probably better than any contract.”
Third final in three seasons
Burgess has led Warrington to three finals in three seasons as head coach. The club also suffered narrow Challenge Cup final defeats in twenty twenty four and twenty twenty five before Saturday's Grand Final loss.
Young players give Burgess hope
Scrum-half Ewan Irwin, eighteen, and centre Arron Lindop, twenty, contributed all ten of Warrington's points against Wakefield. Lindop crossed for both tries and Irwin added a conversion in the Grand Final.
Burgess believes in club's future

Burgess says the emergence of young players gives him belief Warrington will not wait another eight years to return to the Grand Final. He won the National Rugby League Premiership in Australia with South Sydney Rabbitohs in twenty fourteen.
“This is more of a beginning. We've understood what it takes to get here now and the squad we are building now is getting more towards 'my' squad.”
Burgess vows to drive forward
Burgess says the squad is getting closer to his vision and the club must keep improving. He wants the pain of Saturday's loss to drive Warrington forward as they aim to win the Grand Final next time they reach it.
“I guess we have to let the pain of today drive us forward tomorrow.”
