A new programming language uses mathematical proofs to prevent AI from shipping bugs, while running as fast as C on any number of cores. Bend lets you write laws that AI must obey, then mathematically proves the AI followed them before code ships. Originally reported by Bend Lang.
Meet Bend, the AI-proof language
Bend is a programming language designed for the post-AGI world where AI writes most code. It combines C-level speed, GPU parallelism, mathematical proofs, and Python-like syntax to let you tell AI exactly what you want without ambiguity.
Bend runs nearly as fast as C
On a single core, Bend compiles to native code and matches C's speed. The same binary automatically parallelizes across all available cores or GPU, running up to 100 times faster without you writing threads or locks.
Type checking takes one second, not minutes
Bend's type checker is also a proof checker, like Lean and Rocq, but it runs in one second instead of minutes. This means an AI agent can verify its work after every single change.
Laws block AI mistakes mathematically
You write laws in LAWS.bend declaring what should never happen. The AI must then prove its code obeys those laws before shipping. Breaking a law becomes mathematically impossible, not just unlikely.
“Merging a bug is mathematically impossible: it is a theorem.”
Real example: protecting a game from bugs
When asked to add board wrapping to a game, an AI without LAWS.bend shipped a bug that made winning possible. With LAWS.bend declaring winning impossible, the AI's mistake was caught and blocked, forcing it to retry until it proved the law held.
Get started in three steps
Install Bend with one command, add instructions to your AGENTS.md file, then tell your AI agent to use Bend. Ask it to write laws for anything critical and parallelize everything that needs speed.
