Xreal Aura Launch

Xreal began taking orders for the Aura, the first wired smart glasses running Google's Android XR platform, at a launch price of $1,099 for the 12GB/256GB model and $1,299 for the 16GB/512GB version.
Price and Availability
Both models are discounted through December from standard prices of $1,279 and $1,499, with shipments starting in mid-November 2026 in the U.S., Canada, Japan and South Korea.
Key Features
The device uses Qualcomm's Snapdragon Reality Elite chip, Sony Micro-OLED displays at 1200p and 120Hz, Bose-tuned audio, and a tethered puck for power and computing.
App Ecosystem

More than 150 Made-for-XR apps are available at launch, including NBA, NASCAR, Chess Club, and San Francisco Ballet's The Nutcracker.
Market Strategy
Xreal positions the device as a general-purpose spatial computing tool for work, entertainment and gaming rather than a pure immersive headset.
Competitive Context
The Aura competes with Meta's Ray-Ban Display in price and features, but requires carrying a tethered puck for power and computing.
CEO Statement
Xreal CEO Chi Xu said building a smart glasses business is difficult and the industry has reached an inflection point where hardware, software and design are finally in place.
Market Impact
The launch tests whether Android XR can attract developers at a pace that justifies a $1,099 outlay for a platform with fewer apps than Meta's Quest store.
