KPop Demon Hunters turns your phone into a shelf
Netflix's demon-hunting pop hit now comes as tiny silicone figures that cling to the edge of your screen.
In brief
Netflix's demon-hunting pop hit now comes as tiny silicone figures that cling to the edge of your screen. Blind box collecting works because you can't pick: buy with friends and trade until everyone has the set. Originally reported by Billboard.
A new blind box drops
CultureFly just released phone huggers for KPop Demon Hunters, adding to a merch line that already includes instant noodle boxes, Funko Pops and keychain charms.
“Now, fans have another chance to test their luck with a new series of miniature accessories”
The movie that would not slow down
The soundtrack took over streaming charts, "Golden" won an Oscar, and HUNTR/X became a real K-pop act. A global concert tour is next.
“HUNTR/X emerging as a genuine K-pop phenomenon”
Nine characters, one box
Each $11.99 box holds one mystery silicone minifigure from nine designs: all of HUNTR/X, the five Saja Boys, and the blue tiger Derpy.
“One mystery silicone minifigure chosen from nine possible designs in every blind box.”
Decoration, not a grip
The flexible silicone figures clamp onto a phone, tablet or monitor edge and peel off with no sticky residue. They are not built to hold your phone up.
“The figures are intended as decorative accessories rather than functional phone grips or stands.”
Trade your way to the set
You cannot choose your character, and duplicates happen when you buy several. Start a collection with friends and swap until everyone has all nine.
“that's part of the fun of collecting them”
The $39.97 upgrade
A Derpy and Sussie MagSafe PopWallet holds three cards, snaps on and off, and swaps its top art. PopGrip versions exist too, but the adhesive one blocks wireless charging.
“All three products feature a swappable top to change the artwork.”
In short
Blind box collecting works because you can't pick: buy with friends and trade until everyone has the set.
