In brief
Soundboks' new Rider speaker delivers 118 decibels of volume in a 14-pound package designed for outdoor adventures. You can now get serious party volume from a speaker light enough to carry anywhere, with a battery that lasts up to 35 hours. Originally reported by Billboard.
Soundboks goes small and mighty
The new Rider speaker launches September 17 for $599 and weighs just 14.3 pounds, making it the smallest model in Soundboks' lineup while still hitting 118 decibels.
“Big sound doesn't always have to come in a big package.”
Built for travel and durability
The Rider measures 13.8 x 9.4 x 7.9 inches with a built-in carry handle, reinforced ABS casing, and IP66 rating for water and dust resistance. It's designed to withstand drops and impacts.
Battery lasts 35 hours at mid-volume
The swappable battery delivers up to 35 hours of playtime at moderate volume or 8 hours at full volume, and charges in about 2 hours. The battery also has USB-C output for charging other devices.
Customize sound through the app
The Soundboks app offers preset sound profiles for different environments, custom EQ controls, volume management, connection handling, and firmware updates.
Grab it and go, no setup needed
The Rider is designed as a standalone speaker rather than part of a multi-speaker setup, so you can take the music wherever the day goes without planning around your sound system.
“Instead of planning an entire party around your sound system, you can grab the speaker and take the music wherever the day goes.”
The key point
You can now get serious party volume from a speaker light enough to carry anywhere, with a battery that lasts up to 35 hours.
