Claudette ran the Dover household

Whitney Stefko Dover, a director and senior counsel of policy and legal operations at Ford, built a Claude assistant named Claudette to manage her family's life. It turned emails and calendars into a four a.m. briefing called the Daily Dover, organizing school schedules, childcare, travel, birthdays, and chores.

Claudette is now on a PIP

Three months ago, Stefko Dover told Business Insider that Claudette had become essential. Now, fresh competition has arrived. Stefko Dover says Claudette is on a performance improvement plan, though she is not convinced it will not be the superior chief of staff next month.

“I'm not convinced that, like, next month, Claudette won't be the superior chief of staff. She's on a PIP.”

Gigi took over the role

Gigi, a chief of staff built in ChatGPT Work, now parses through the Dover family calendar. Stefko Dover's husband, a longtime OpenAI user, encouraged her to try ChatGPT. An August Substack post from venture capital firm A16z also pushed her to try new agents.

Gigi outperformed Claudette

Gigi offered a better interface, maintained more continuity across projects, and produced stronger first drafts of emails and PowerPoint presentations. It also made more proactive suggestions without waiting to be prompted. Stefko Dover discovered she had tool bias and was reluctant to abandon Claudette after months of refining.

“Turns out I have a lot of tool bias, which was unexpected.”

Gigi handles groceries and more

Since the switch, Gigi has taken on more responsibilities. Every Friday, it reads a grocery list shared with the family's nanny and fills online shopping carts. Stefko Dover still reviews and pays for orders herself. Gigi makes fewer contextual errors than Claudette and remembers more about different parts of her identity.

“If I were to do that, I'd probably get, like, a five hundred dollar credit card limit so that there wasn't, like, Gigi purchasing diamonds on Rodeo Drive.”

A third AI joins the team

Stefko Dover said Gigi should not expect to have the job forever. There is no final destination. Since the interview, she has added Ingrid, built with invite-only Instinct AI, which can carry out tasks through text messages and phone calls. She is layering Ingrid on top of Gigi.

“There's not a final destination here. The power of being a user is this constant iteration.”
