No Kings account goes dark on voting day
Meta suspended the No Kings movement's Instagram account during its nationwide day of action to mobilize early voting in the midterms. The account went dark for several hours at the peak of the event.
Meta blames automated system for error
Meta spokesman Andy Stone said accounts posting at very high frequencies trigger automated responses. He said the No Kings suspension was taken in error and apologized, saying everything is now working.
“That's what happened with the No Kings IG account in the lead up to today's day of action. Unfortunately, that automated action was clearly taken in error.”

No Kings said restricting communications about voting during an election is unacceptable and demanded Meta answer for the suspension and ensure it never happens again to any account.
