Meta's Muse AI personal agent app launched on September eighth and reached two point five million downloads within thirteen days, according to analytics firm Sensor Tower.

Muse tops ChatGPT on iOS

Muse overtook ChatGPT as the leading iOS free app in the U.S. on Friday, ahead of Anthropic's Claude, SpaceX AI's Grok, and Meta's own Meta AI app.

Download numbers across platforms

In thirteen days, Muse logged over two point five million downloads total. Claude recorded four hundred thousand and Grok two hundred thousand. ChatGPT obtained three point one million during the same window.

What Muse does

Meta pitched Muse as a way for consumers to manage digital assistants that perform tasks across the web, like filling out electronic forms and organizing email inboxes. It's powered by Meta's Muse Spark family of AI models.

Zuckerberg's push into AI agents

Muse represents a major push by CEO Mark Zuckerberg into the AI agent market, which the freely available OpenClaw tool helped popularize earlier this year among developers and technology enthusiasts.

Analyst sees mainstream potential

Bernstein analyst Stacy Rasgon told CNBC that most agentic use cases have not been for normal people, but Muse and other agents are starting to get potential for broader adoption.

“I think up to this point most of the agentic use cases have not really been for normal people.”

Meta stock surges on Muse news

Meta's stock surged more than eleven percent on Monday. Wells Fargo lifted its price target on the company's stock to seven hundred ninety six dollars, according to multiple reports.

Amazon blocks Muse over privacy

Amazon blocked Muse from accessing its shopping site, citing privacy and security risks. Amazon said Muse was not given advance notice, bypasses shopping features, and appears to capture and store customer credentials.

“We think it's fairly straightforward that third-party applications that offer to make purchases on behalf of customers from other businesses should operate openly and respect service provider decisions.”

Shopify partners with Muse

Shopify CEO Tobias Lütke announced Monday that the e-commerce site was partnering with Muse to allow agentic checkout in its online stores, contrasting with Amazon's blocking of the app.
