Zelenskyy meets Trump at UN

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke with U.S. President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York on Tuesday.

Ukraine proposes energy ceasefire

Zelenskyy said Ukraine is ready to agree to an energy truce on the condition that Russia does not attack its energy, electricity, heating infrastructure and water supplies.

“We are ready. I'm not sure Russia is ready as of today, but anyhow, we spoke about an energy ceasefire.”

Zelenskyy calls for trilateral talks

Zelenskyy urged Trump to organize a trilateral meeting with Putin, saying the world leaders need to move as quickly as possible to end the war.

“I think the most important move President Trump can make, he can organize a trilateral meeting where the leaders can raise all the sensitive issues and try to end the war.”

Zelenskyy ready to meet Putin

When asked if he would meet directly with Putin and Trump to end the war, Zelenskyy said he is ready anytime when all sides are prepared.

“I'm ready. I said it, I'm ready anytime when all the sides will be ready.”

Ukraine seeks Patriot missiles

A winter package of Patriot missiles and licenses to produce the weapons domestically were two priorities for Ukraine over the coming months, Zelenskyy said.

Trump backs Ukraine's position

Trump told reporters he had spoken with Zelenskyy about finding a solution to end Russia's war and referenced a diplomatic push during his speech to General Assembly delegates.

“We will get that one done.”

Zelenskyy calls on Trump to engage Xi

Zelenskyy asked Trump to discuss ways to end the war with Chinese President Xi Jinping, saying Xi has influence on Putin and all sides must work to end the conflict.

“If he also engages President Xi, he has influence on Putin. If we want to end this war, not just in messages, we all have to work twenty four seven for this.”

Kremlin dismisses direct talks

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Wednesday that a meeting between Putin and Zelenskyy before expert-level discussions would be a waste of time, according to Russia's state-run news agency RIA Novosti.

“Putin said that Zelensky, if he wishes, can come to Moscow.”

Russia plans massive strikes

Russia's Defense Ministry has said it is planning massive strikes on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, amplifying fears of another winter assault on the country.
