The Disneyland photo that fooled TikTok

In brief
A vintage Disneyland slide turned into a viral guessing game over one visitor’s oddly modern look. The mystery man probably was not a time traveler, but the photo shows how easily old images can make ordinary style look out of place. Originally reported by California Post.
A strange old slide
Josie Weaver found her grandfather’s vintage Disneyland photos and noticed one parkgoer who looked oddly current in a scene from the 1960s.
“Talk about being ahead of your time.”
The man stood out
In a crowd of collared shirts and slacks, he wore a fitted navy crewneck, dark sunglasses, a sling bag, and a haircut Weaver thought looked modern.
“To me, he looked so different to everyone around him”
Grandpa’s camera sparked it
The discovery started when Weaver’s 84-year-old grandfather asked for help selling an old camera. They found film and projected the images at home.
TikTok took over
Weaver posted the Disneyland slide on TikTok on Aug. 25. The clip drew 2.5 million views as viewers debated whether the man looked out of time.
The internet split
Some joked about a time-travel portal at the Anaheim park. Others said shirts, sunglasses, and sharp casual style were not unusual in the 1960s.
“But people did own shirts and sunglasses in the 60s.”
A young Disneyland glimpse
Weaver’s family called her reaction dramatic, but the photo still offered a lively look at Disneyland when the park was only a few years old.
