Wheelie on I-84 ends the only way it could

In brief
Two riders popped wheelies through Boise freeway traffic, and the camera caught what happened next. Stunting in live freeway traffic leaves no margin, and the only thing between a wheelie and a fatality is luck. Originally reported by California Post.
Showing off on the freeway

On September 9, a group of riders were doing stunts and weaving through traffic on Interstate 84 in Boise. Idaho State Police posted the video.
Wheelies between the cars

In the footage, two riders take turns lifting their front wheels while cars flow around them at highway speed. No shoulder, no gap, no room for error.
Down on the asphalt

One rider loses control and gets dumped onto the pavement in the middle of moving traffic, bike sliding away from him.
He walked away

Medics checked the rider at the scene and he had no major injuries. Police called it a near miss rather than an accident.
“Thankfully, the rider was cleared by medical personnel at the scene.”
Both riders cited

Idaho State Police cited both motorcyclists for reckless driving and used the clip as a warning as riding season winds down.
“Reckless driving puts everyone on the road at risk.”
The internet had thoughts
Commenters roasted the rider and pointed out how close the pickup behind him came. Several wanted the bikes impounded.
“He's very lucky that pickup behind him didn't run right over top of him!”
What to remember
Stunting in live freeway traffic leaves no margin, and the only thing between a wheelie and a fatality is luck.
