One dead, six hurt

A man was killed and at least six others were shot in Humboldt Park on Sunday afternoon, Chicago police said.

12:17 p.m. on Christiana

Six people were standing outside near an alley in the 700 block of North Christiana Avenue when the shooting started, just after noon.

Two cars, several shooters

Two unknown vehicles pulled up and multiple armed people got out and opened fire, according to police.

The man who died

He suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His age was not immediately known.

A 24-year-old in critical condition

Shot in the leg and stomach, he was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital and was initially reported to be in critical condition.

A 14-year-old among them

A teenage boy was shot in both thighs and taken to Stroger Hospital. Police said he was initially in good condition.

A driver hit, then a crash

A 30-year-old woman was struck in the hip while inside her car and crashed into a CTA bus. She was taken to Mount Sinai in good condition.

The bus driver too

The CTA driver whose bus was hit was taken to a local hospital for observation.

Three more walked in

Men aged 18, 21 and 26 were shot in the shoulder, leg and foot. Two took themselves to Stroger Hospital, and all three were in good condition.

Area Four is investigating

Detectives from Area Four have the case. Police released no information about suspects or a motive.

“Area Four Detectives are investigating.”
