One pass from a tie
Tyler Shough's 2-point throw fell incomplete in the end zone, and Detroit walked off with a 31-30 overtime win over New Orleans.
Moore chose the win
With 1:34 left in overtime, Saints coach Kellen Moore skipped the extra point that would have tied it and sent his offense back out for two.
Detroit built a 21-0 lead
Jared Goff hit Amon-Ra St. Brown twice for scores and Jahmyr Gibbs ran in three, burying the Saints by the third quarter.
Gibbs carried the day
Gibbs took a career-high 29 carries for 156 yards and matched his career best with three rushing touchdowns, plus five catches for 30 yards.
A fumble that wasn't
Chase Young appeared to strip Goff on a sack in the second quarter, but video review ruled Goff had started his throwing motion. Incomplete pass, no Saints touchdown.
New Orleans woke up late
Kendre Miller's 8-yard run and Shough's 1-yard pass to a fully extended Devaughn Vele cut a three-touchdown hole to seven late in the third.
Fourth-and-12 kept it alive
Shough hit rookie Bryce Lance for 15 yards on fourth-and-12 from his own 23, then found Chris Olave for 43 to set up the tying score with 1:07 left.
A 62-yarder came up short
Detroit went three and out, and Ryan Wright missed from 62 yards as regulation expired. Goff and St. Brown then scored on the opening drive of overtime.
Shough's messy brilliance
He threw two interceptions and lost a fumble, then finished 35 of 56 for 410 yards and three touchdowns. Goff was 26 of 39 for 206 with no turnovers.
