Swinney says Burley returns

Head coach Dabo Swinney said Vic Burley would return ahead of ACC play after suspension.

Burley's potential return

Swinney believed Burley always had the potential to come back after learning his lesson first.

Swinney's comments

Swinney said Burley deserved to return but was not kicked off for being stupid and a dumb decision.

“"I mean, he deserved to come back, I mean, he was stupid, but I'm not going to kick him off for being stupid and being just a dumb, dumb decision on his part"”

Burley's background

Burley was expected to be a starter on Clemson's defensive line before the incident happened.

MBA progress

Swinney said Burley was working on his MBA and already had his degree from Clemson.

“"He's working on his MBA, he's already got his degree, he's about to get an MBA from Clemson"”

Swinney's standards

Swinney stressed Clemson's standards for the program, saying nothing will slide off the field.

Burley's status

Burley isn't featured on Clemson's depth chart for their ACC opening game against North Carolina.

Swinney's assessment

Swinney said Burley handled the situation and took ownership of his actions.

“"He's got a lot going on, so we're just trying to help him through it, and we'll see where he is and how he does, but he handled it, he took ownership of it"”

Burley's impact

Burley brings experience to aid Clemson's defensive line that has struggled to begin the season.
