Another Mormon Wives exit
Mikayla Matthews is leaving The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives after Whitney Leavitt's departure, confirming her exit mid-season 6 filming on September 14.
She won't film with one person
Mikayla told the network before agreeing to season 6 that she wouldn't film if a specific cast member returned, calling it unethical and citing concerns about children involved.
“The ONLY reason I'm leaving the show is because I was told a certain person was coming back.”
Fans point to Taylor Frankie Paul

While Mikayla didn't name names, fans believe the exit centers on Taylor Frankie Paul, whose domestic dispute with ex Dakota Mortensen included a viral stool-throwing incident.
The stool incident changed things
A video of Taylor throwing a stool at Dakota around their children went viral, leading Taylor's Bachelorette season to be scrapped and cast members including Mikayla to distance themselves.
She won't enable harmful behavior
In May, Mikayla stated she can't pretend destructive behavior is okay, especially with children involved, and won't enable poor conduct from either party in the dispute.
“It is not my job to enable poor or dangerous behavior from either party, especially when children are involved.”
The toxic environment broke her

Mikayla said season 5 was triggering and frustrating to watch, and she couldn't willingly return to an environment causing discomfort for the entire cast and crew.
“If you guys watched season 5 and thought wow this is hard to watch, incredibly triggering and frustrating, imagine having it be your reality everyday.”
Her own history with abuse
Mikayla cited her personal experience growing up in a home with multiple forms of abuse as a reason she can't be part of platforming behavior she disagrees with.
“I'm not comfortable being a part of something that continues to platform behavior I don't agree with especially given my own experience growing up in a home with multiple forms of abuse.”
The bottom line
Mikayla Matthews refused to film season 6 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives because she believes a returning cast member's behavior is unethical and harmful, especially with children involved.
