Couple films illegal dumping

An elderly couple spotted Jamie Allen, 29, dumping the contents of a wheelbarrow near their home and challenged him about the fly-tipping.

Doorbell captures the confrontation

Allen was caught on the couple's doorbell camera pulling a knife on them after they challenged him about dumping waste near their property.

Allen spots the camera days later

A few days later on June 11, Allen walked past the house again, spotted the doorbell camera, and marched up to their front door.

He destroys the doorbell

Allen ripped off the doorbell cover and poured a can of alcohol over it while the elderly couple watched from inside their home.

Confrontation turns aggressive

When the couple confronted Allen about his behavior, he launched into abuse and pulled a knife from his waistband.

Allen taunts them on camera

Allen repeatedly told the couple to film him, saying 'film me now, film me now' before threatening them with the knife.

“film me now, film me now”

Explicit knife threats made

Allen told the couple he would 'put this straight in your front' and later threatened to 'put this straight in your knee.'

“I'll put this straight in your front”

Woman refuses to back down

The elderly woman told Allen she was not stooping to his level and ordered him to leave their property despite his threats.

“Don't you touch me either. You're threatening me with a knife.”

Allen attacks the doorbell

While the woman tried to push him away, Allen started attacking the doorbell with his knife.

He spits in her face

After making more threats against the woman, Allen spat in her face before storming off the property.

Allen was wanted for abuse

Allen launched his attack while he was wanted by Northamptonshire Police for controlling and coercive behavior against his ex-partner.

Multiple charges filed

Allen was charged with two counts of threats to kill, assault by beating, possession of a knife blade in public, criminal damage, and controlling or coercive behavior.

Allen admits most charges

Allen admitted five of the six charges against him, with one count of making threats to kill ordered to remain on file.

Sentenced to three and a half years

On September 4, Allen was jailed for three and a half years at Northampton Crown Court for his crimes.

Restraining orders imposed

Allen was handed two restraining orders: an indefinite order protecting the elderly couple and a five-year order protecting his ex-partner.

Orders ban all contact

The restraining orders ban Allen from contacting any of the three victims directly or indirectly.

Police praise victims' courage

Detective Constable Rachael McDaid commended the elderly couple for standing up to Allen despite his threatening behavior and the ex-partner for reporting his abuse.

“He used threats, intimidation, and violence to control and frighten those around him”
