Transgender cop confesses to rape

Maja S., 55, confessed to raping a 15-year-old girl in a McDonald's toilet in Germany. She appeared in court wearing handcuffs and leg irons.

Three and a half years expected

Judge Andreas Bartschmid said she will likely face three and a half years in prison in exchange for the confession.

Moved to men's prison section

After initially being held in the women's section of Bamberg prison, she's been in the men's section of Stadelheim prison for five months.

Complaints about prison treatment

Her lawyer said she is whistled at during exercise periods and physical examinations are always conducted by male officers.

Massive cache of illegal material

Police found around 2,000 files of child and animal pornography in her possession, plus a Kalashnikov rifle.

Criminal activity traced to 2024

The alleged crimes began in 2024 when she uploaded pornographic material depicting abuse of three-year-old children to the internet.

Police raided her workplace

The upload led to police raids at her police station and home. Her colleagues seized more illegal material and the rifle.

Suspended and fined heavily

Maja S. was suspended from police duties and later fined €19,000, equivalent to about £16,000.

Invited teen on motorcycle trip

While investigations were ongoing, she invited the 15-year-old daughter of an acquaintance on a motorcycle tour to McDonald's.

Attack in McDonald's toilet

The prosecutor said she forced her way into the toilet cubicle, closed and locked the door, taking advantage of her physical strength.

“There, the defendant, who is 1.84 meters tall and physically much stronger, took advantage of a moment of surprise, forced her way into the toilet cubicle the victim had entered.”

Fiancée discovered sexual message

The August 2025 rape came to light after Maja S.'s fiancé, Stefanie Z., found a sexual message on her partner's phone.

Fiancée confronted the victim

Disturbed by what she found, Stefanie Z. confronted the 15-year-old girl directly to ask if everything was alright.

“I was distraught and shocked and asked the little girl if everything was alright.”

Girl revealed the assault

The teen told Stefanie Z. that she had ended up in the toilet with Maja, who kissed her and touched her all over.

“Then she told me that she had somehow ended up in the toilet with Maja, that she had kissed her and touched her all over.”

Victim frozen in shock

The indictment states the victim was unable to react and stared in shock, then locked herself in the toilet trembling with her heart pounding.

“The victim was unable to react and stared at the accused in shock.”

Second alleged assault occurred

Maja S. allegedly assaulted the girl again after a swimming pool trip. The victim woke up naked in the officer's bed with no memory.

Confession spares victim testimony

At trial, Maja S. confessed to most charges behind closed doors to spare the victim from testifying. She must pay the victim €5,000.
