Free trees, eighth year running

The City of Dallas is giving away free 5-gallon trees through Branch Out Dallas, its long-running program to grow the urban tree canopy.

Sign up by September 30

Registration is open now at dallas.gov/branchoutdallas and runs through September 30, or until the trees run out.

“Registration opened online and will continue through September 30, while supplies last”

You need a water account

Only people living inside Dallas city limits qualify, and you have to enter a Dallas Water Utilities account number to register.

Pick your tree and site

During sign-up you choose from the available tree varieties and select which pick-up location you want.

One morning to collect it

Trees go out on Dallas Arbor Day, Saturday November 7, from 9 a.m. to noon at the site you picked. There is no delivery.

“Delivery is not offered.”

Why the city bothers

Officials say more tree cover cuts stormwater runoff, lowers temperatures, cleans the air, and eases the heat island effect across Dallas.

The big picture

Register at dallas.gov/branchoutdallas with your Dallas Water Utilities account number before September 30, then pick up your tree on November 7.
