In brief
A downtown block party, two matching pools, and a $74 million precedent, all leading up to Thursday. Time your donation. Giving during a match window at Pegasus Plaza on Monday or to Children's Health can double what your money does. Originally reported by Dallas Express.
Giving week is on

North Texas Giving Day runs now through Thursday, September 17. Communities Foundation of Texas connects donors with groups doing health care, food, housing and education work.
Twenty counties, no cut taken
The push covers nonprofits across 20 North Texas counties and more than 25 cause areas. The foundation says 100% of every donation reaches the nonprofit.
Monday at Pegasus Plaza
A free Downtown Dallas Day of Giving runs 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday, September 14, at 1500 Main St. Meet nonprofit reps, hear about their work, give on the spot.
First $1,000 matched
During those three hours, Communities Foundation of Texas matches the first $1,000 of each eligible online gift until a $25,000 pool runs dry. Downtown Dallas, Inc. picked the eligible groups.
A $210,000 challenge
North Peak Capital is matching gifts to the Children's Health Foundation campaign up to $210,000. The offer applies only there, so check other groups for their own matches.
Emma and Octavia
The Children's Health campaign centers two 7-year-olds. Emma, born with a rare congenital condition, shares a salute with the surgeon who has treated her since infancy. Octavia rang the bell ending cancer treatment.
Groceries instead of worry
Catholic Charities Dallas sent Cynthia Ross, unemployed and raising seven children including five in foster care, to the Jan Pruitt Community Pantry. She has had support for over seven years.
“Not having to worry about where our next meal would come from was truly a gift.”
Comedy, dinner, patio
Stomping Ground Comedy raises money for a $20,000 scholarship fund Thursday night at Triumphs Espresso & Whiskey. Fort Worth's Rivertree Academy holds its sold-out Dinner Under the Stars Wednesday.
Last year set the bar
Started in 2009, the day pulled in $74.2 million for 3,500 nonprofits in 2025, from more than 94,000 donors. The official site lists participating groups and their campaigns.
The essence
Time your donation. Giving during a match window at Pegasus Plaza on Monday or to Children's Health can double what your money does.
