In brief
A Mexican thriller where friends split after a video of a murdered actress surfaces. Netflix's Inside The Circle skips due to unclear character dynamics in its political thriller plot. Originally reported by Decider.
Opening Shot
To the strains of The Cure’s "Just Like Heaven," we see a group of friends who met in grade school and are still tight over 30 years later.
The Gist
The four friends, Jaime (Osvaldo Benavides), Tomás (Michel Brown), Amelia (Zuria Vega) and Mario (Raúl Briones), are about to celebrate Jamie’s birthday when a video of actress Pamela Dosantos’ murder surfaces.
The Scandal
Tomás posted a video of Dosantos alive the night before her death, which shows her walking into the house of defense secretary General Escolta Salazar.
The Stakes
Jamie negotiates a government contract for his father’s company with Salazar’s support, Amelia is a congressperson in Salazar’s party, and Mario wants his daughter Viridiana to follow the case.
The Chase
Tomás is chased by Salazar’s men after posting the video and returns to find his apartment trashed.
Our Call
Viewers get little intrigue because the friend group’s dynamics remain unclear after flashbacks fail to establish their closeness.
