Izien trending toward return

Defensive back Christian Izien is moving in the right direction to play Sunday after missing Week 1.

“He's looked pretty good through the weekend. I'd say he's trending the right away. Not totally there yet, but I think there's a good chance.”

Reed pops up with foot injury

Veteran cornerback D.J. Reed appeared on the injury report Tuesday with a foot issue. He was limited in practice.

Miller dealing with knee problem

Rookie right tackle Blake Miller showed up on the injury report with a knee injury sustained during the Saints game.

Miller felt it after the game

The first-round pick noticed the knee became bothersome after Sunday's game. He arrived early Monday and was feeling better.

“I'm doing everything everything I humanly can to get my body the best it can feel.”

Short week complicates recovery

Detroit will re-evaluate Miller over the next couple days to determine his availability for Thursday's game.

“It's a short week, and it's really about how fast can we, some of this is the recovery. What does he look like tomorrow?”

Borom ready to step in

Larry Borom would likely start at right tackle if Miller can't go. The veteran battled Miller throughout training camp.
