Official Sonic Discord launched
Sega created an official Sonic the Hedgehog Discord server on October 5, 2026, for fans to share their love for the Blue Blur.
Server descends into chaos
Mere hours after launch, members flooded the chat with inappropriate images, memes, and profane messages forcing moderators to briefly lock it down.
Server rules prohibit harmful content
The server requires family-friendly posts, protection of personal information, and kindness while banning political campaigning, religious promotion, and major story spoilers.
AI-generated content banned
Sega explicitly banned AI-generated creative content including art, writing, music, videos, and Eggman dating simulators from the server.
“Human-made Eggman Dating Simulators are (probably) OK, but why would you do this?”
Server temporarily locked
Moderators temporarily locked the server after users violated rules with inappropriate content and profanity.
Sega warns of permanent removal
Users who violate rules may be removed without warning, and Sega urges fans to follow the rules closely to avoid permanent bans.
The bottom line
Sega's new Sonic Discord server shut down after hours of inappropriate content and profanity.
