Adobe Premiere arrives on Android
Adobe announced on September 22 that its free mobile version of Premiere is now available for Android devices, nearly a year after launching on iOS.
Built for quick edits on the go
The mobile app trades advanced desktop tools for shortcuts designed for small screens, letting creators assemble social media content or start projects for later desktop refinement.
Multi-track timeline and familiar features
The app keeps Premiere's signature multi-track timeline for layering videos, music, text, and effects, giving creators precise control over timing on a mobile device.
Free with optional paid upgrades
The Android app is completely free with no ads or forced logins, and creators can edit and export videos up to 4K without watermarks. Generative AI tools and cloud storage require a paid subscription.
“the app doesn't have ads or forced log-ins either”
Competes with CapCut and Instagram Edits
Adobe faces stiff competition from free social media editing apps like TikTok's CapCut and Instagram's Edits, which already dominate mobile video creation.
30 years of desktop editing now mobile
Premiere has been a professional standard for over 30 years and has appeared in Hollywood films. Now it's available across desktop, iOS, and Android after the discontinuation of Premiere Rush.
