Canon expands printer lineup

Canon is launching 12 new imagePROGRAF printers to complement its existing PRO series. The new models target graphics, technical drawings, and design applications across architecture, engineering, retail, and education.
5-ink technology for graphics
Unlike the PRO series with 12 inks, the new printers use 5-ink technology. They're optimized for technical drawings and graphics rather than photographic fidelity, though they can handle photo printing reasonably well.
New matte black ink formula
All new models feature a newly developed matte black ink that enhances black density and enables rich fine lines and crisp detail. This benefits technical drawings while maintaining vivid color for poster printing.
TM series with optional scanners

The TM range includes 24-inch and 36-inch roll-fed models. The TM-610M and TM-510M feature built-in large-format scanners with dual light sources to reduce wrinkles. All include a 5-inch color touchscreen.
TX series for high-volume work
The TX lineup targets high-volume printing with models ranging from 36 to 44 inches. Multi-function models include scanners, while printer-only models skip them. A new basket automatically stacks output face-down.
Smart paper detection
TX printers include Smart Roll Paper Set function that automatically detects paper type and remaining amount, then begins feeding. Optional secondary roll feeder switches between different widths or types automatically.
Large touchscreen for scanning

Multi-function TX printers feature a 15.6-inch monitor screen for intuitive scanning and copying. Users can make real-time edits for brightness, color, and skew correction without rescanning. Scanner and printer work independently.
Pricing and availability
Pricing varies by region and model. The TM-500 will cost 1,068 British pounds when it launches in November. Full pricing and availability details are on Canon's regional websites.
The key point
Canon's new TM and TX series printers use 5-ink technology optimized for technical drawings and graphics rather than photo printing, with built-in scanners on select models.
