Trump Appoints Zacharia

Trump named Katie Zacharia as next White House press secretary to succeed Karoline Leavitt.

Zacharia's Background

Zacharia, a 42-year-old California native, previously worked as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs at the Department of Homeland Security.

Leavitt's Tenure

Leavitt held the role for over 18 months, calling a reporter a 'left-wing hack' during her time as press secretary.
