Avatar returns, 200 years after Korra
The new Seven Havens trailer shows a broken world, a hunted young Avatar, and a franchise that has moved on from everyone you know.
In brief
The new Seven Havens trailer shows a broken world, a hunted young Avatar, and a franchise that has moved on from everyone you know. Seven Havens jumps 200 years past Korra and drops the first three episodes on Paramount+ on October 9, with two seasons already ordered. Originally reported by Engadget.
A real trailer at last
Paramount+ put out nearly three minutes of Avatar: Seven Havens, with character voices and actual plot. July's footage was only a teaser by comparison.
The world broke
Something catastrophic happened after The Legend of Korra. Survivors fled to the seven havens the show is named for, and the setting is thick with post-apocalyptic ruin.
“the world is in shambles”
Korra gets the blame
Public opinion has turned against Avatars entirely, because people hold Korra responsible for the disaster. Fans of the last series will find that very familiar.
Meet Avatar Pavi
Pavi is a young girl who will probably be on the run once her identity leaks. She has a twin sister, which hints at spirit world trouble, plus the usual friend group.
A 200 year gap
Showrunners including co-creator Michael Dante DiMartino confirmed the jump. Korra was 70 years after Aang, so aged-up favorites like Toph and Zuko are off the table.
“How did Korra live that long? We'll find out”
Two seasons, already
Three episodes land October 9, then weekly. The show is renewed for a second run, so 26 episodes are coming, capping a year that also brought the Aang movie and more Netflix live action.
