Google's four Gemini four Argon agents defeated Minecraft's Ender Dragon with no human intervention, working together through in-game chat and shared memory to coordinate tasks and strategies.
“The four agents wrote and ran two thousand seven hundred eighty-three programs, exchanged two hundred twenty-nine messages and died six hundred five times along the way.”
How the agents divided the work
Each agent took on different roles without being assigned them. Janesick made tools, gyldenia gathered food and supplies, auratian lit a key portal and bulicame built Enderman shelters and landed the final blow.
A milestone for general AI models
The process took twenty-seven point two three hours and cost eight hundred ten dollars at Gemini's list price.
“Winning required the agents to keep a coherent plan across thousands of dependent steps for more than a day.”
