Meta announces Ray-Ban Display updates
At Meta Connect 2026 on September twenty-third, the company revealed new features for its Ray-Ban Display smart glasses, which launched at the same conference last year.
Holographic avatars for video calls
The glasses will support photorealistic holographic avatars during calls. Your hologram is driven entirely by your voice, and the hologram model infers your expression from what you're saying and how you're saying it.

Avatar feature launches for WhatsApp
The hologram feature will initially be available in early access later this fall for WhatsApp users in the US, allowing callers to see an avatar instead of the wearer's face.
Navigation gets smarter and more conversational
Users in the US and Canada can now ask for cycling or public transit directions by voice. Navigation can be based on the world around you rather than street signs, directing you to turn left at the yellow house instead of at Third Street.
New Explore app and other improvements
A new Explore app helps users browse available programs for the glasses. Other updates include Dolby Atmos audio, photo editing on the display, a more detailed calendar, mirrored phone notifications and Threads for Community Feeds.
Ray-Ban Display expands to five new markets
The glasses arrive in the UK, Canada, France, Italy and Germany. UK pricing starts at seven hundred forty-nine pounds. Canadian pricing starts at one thousand one hundred forty-nine Canadian dollars. Pre-orders begin today in France, Italy and Germany at eight hundred ninety-nine euros, with availability on October thirteenth.
