Enhanced upscaler now automatic
Sony's system software twenty six point zero six dash fourteen point zero zero point zero zero enables Enhance PSSR Image Quality by default on PS5 Pro, activating the newer upscaler without manual configuration.
Only works with compatible games
The update only affects games already built to support PSSR. It does not add AI upscaling to the entire PlayStation library, and not every PS5 Pro Enhanced game uses PSSR technology.
What the enhanced version fixes

The original PSSR had shimmering textures and distortion around fine text. The enhanced version offers fine detail clarity, image reconstruction and stability in motion, with less flickering and more refined details like hair and foliage.
How to revert if needed
Games built for the original PSSR will use the enhanced version by default. If you experience unexpected visual effects, go to Settings, Screen and Video, Video Output, Enhance PSSR Image Quality and disable the override.
Update brings other features too
The same update introduces an on-screen voice chat indicator showing who is speaking, a Community Activity widget in the Welcome Hub, and Trending Now displaying ten multiplayer games attracting many players.
