Five Galaxy tablets reach end of updates
The Galaxy Tab S9, S9+, S9 Ultra, S9 FE and S9 FE+ will receive their final major Android update in 2026. These tablets arrived in 2023 running One UI 5.1.
One UI 9 is the last major update
The Galaxy Tab S9 series will receive One UI 9, based on Android 17. Samsung promised these devices four generations of major OS updates and five years of security patches.
Older tablets already hit their limit
The Galaxy Tab S8, S8+ and S8 Ultra from February 2022 already received their final update with One UI 8 based on Android 16.The Galaxy Tab A9 and A9+ also finished updates with Android 16.
Newer tablets get seven-year support
Samsung began its seven-year software update policy with the Galaxy Tab S10 series launched in 2024. The Galaxy Tab S11, S12 and even budget Galaxy Tab A11 and A11+ models released in 2025 all qualify.

Rollout schedules vary by model and region, so not all devices receive updates simultaneously. Check for updates by navigating to Settings, Software update, Download and install.
