Beta firmware spotted on Samsung servers
A One UI 9.5 beta build for the Galaxy S26 Ultra has appeared on Samsung's Korean and US update servers, typically the last step before registrations open.
Expected launch timing
One UI 9.5 is expected to launch with the Galaxy S27 early in 2027. Samsung's last point-five update, One UI 8.5, opened to testers on December 8 2025.
Which phones will get the beta
The spotted build is for the S26 Ultra only, but other S26 phones will almost certainly get it.SammyGuru expects the S25 series, Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8 to get the beta as well.
Carrier-locked phones may be excluded
The One UI 8.5 beta was only available for unlocked phones in the US. Users with a carrier-locked S26 will probably have to wait for the stable release.
How to sign up for the beta
Download the Samsung Members app from the Galaxy Store or Google Play. Once live, open Samsung Members, tap the One UI 9.5 banner and select Registration for One UI Beta Program.
Availability limited to six countries
The beta will only be available in Germany, India, Poland, South Korea, the UK and the US. You must own a qualifying phone to register.
Exiting the beta requires a full downgrade
Withdrawing from the beta through Samsung Members does not remove the beta build. You must plug your phone into a computer and use Smart Switch to run a downgrade, which wipes everything done during testing.
