Threads adds podcast toolkit

Meta is rolling out new features to make Threads better for podcast promotion. Users can now share transcripts, save episodes, and track traffic without leaving the app.
Transcripts come to episode posts
Threads posts with episode links can display video clips, written transcripts, or highlight featured guests. The transcript feature was teased in August by Threads head Connor Hayes.
Save episodes for later listening
Tapping an episode link plays an audio preview. A new save button lets potential subscribers bookmark interesting episodes to return to them later.
Creators get analytics and reminders

Threads now sends nudges to remind creators to share new episodes. Podcast insights show how many people clicked on or saved an episode.
Analytics break from usual approach
The podcast analytics differ from Threads' typical in-app metrics, which usually de-emphasize clicks to outside platforms.
Why podcasts matter for Threads
Video podcasts are easy to chop into short clips for social apps. By making them easier to share, Meta wants Threads to become the default podcast promotion platform.
