Waymo announced it's expanding to Singapore, with plans to offer public rides through its app starting in 2028. The company will begin receiving Jaguar I-PACE vehicles in the coming months.
Mapping Singapore's roads
Throughout 2027, Waymo specialists will manually drive vehicles on Singapore's streets to create detailed maps. The company will also adjust its system for local road geometry and weather patterns.
Tokyo comes first in 2027

Waymo started testing in Tokyo in 2025 and will launch commercial autonomous rides there in 2027. Passengers can book rides through Waymo's app or the popular GO Taxi app.
First-and-last-mile focus
In both Tokyo and Singapore, Waymo targets first-and-last-mile trips to complement strong public transit systems. The service helps people without nearby subway access or those rushing to catch trains.
