A Sunday night shooting

A woman was shot and killed at a home on Lakestream Drive in Plano, near Parker Road and Alma Drive. Police say her ex-boyfriend showed up, fired, and drove off. No one else was hurt.
Detectives worked all night
Plano police tracked the black Dodge Charger he left in and put it under watch before morning.

He fired at troopers

Around 10 a.m. Monday, Texas DPS tried to stop the Charger in Denton County. The driver shot at state troopers and ran, heading north on Interstate 35.
The car caught fire

During the chase the Charger burst into flames, setting the highway median on fire and stopping traffic in both directions near Sanger and Valley View.
Found dead in the wreck

The suspect was found dead inside the burned car after a standoff. How he died has not been determined, and his name has not been released.
A quiet street, shaken

Neighbors said the family had just moved in and that children played in the pool. I-35 stayed closed for hours while crews cleared the scene.
“It's just a scary thought that it happens so close to you”
