Dallas man convicted of trafficking

A federal jury found Devontee Parker, 38, guilty of sex trafficking by force, interstate transportation for prostitution, and racketeering. The conviction followed a trial detailing years of abuse and exploitation.
How Parker targeted his victim
Parker met the victim in 2021 when she was homeless, financially unstable, and grieving. He lured her to Texas under the pretense of support, then forced her into commercial sex.
Years of control and abuse
Parker advertised the victim online, set prices, and drove her across multiple states. He controlled her food, money, and phone while enforcing daily sex quotas and subjecting her to physical violence including strangulation.
“Parker subjected her to brutal physical abuse, including strangling her until she lost consciousness and giving her a black eye.”
Victim escapes during arrest

The victim testified about the abuse she endured. She ultimately escaped in 2024 when Parker was arrested on state prostitution-related charges, allowing her to break free from years of exploitation.
“The courage of the victim resulted in compelling testimony that secured this important conviction.”
Sentencing and additional charges
Parker faces a mandatory minimum of 15 years to life in prison, with sentencing scheduled for February 3, 2027. He was also indicted in Texas in August 2026 on separate sex trafficking charges involving additional victims.
The short version
Parker systematically exploited a vulnerable woman for years through physical abuse, isolation, and control until she escaped during his 2024 arrest.
