Attorney cites a fall

Morris’ lawyer said he fainted in his garage, hit a car door, then fell onto concrete while his wife was nearby.

“This was a medical incident, and Pastor Robert is recovering.”

Three facial fractures

Bill Mateja said Morris was treated in an ER for three broken facial bones. Doctors suspect blood pressure medication taken without food may have caused the fainting.

First check after jail

The photo came during Morris’ first quarterly check-in since his March release from an Oklahoma jail and April sex offender registration.

The abuse case

Morris served six months after admitting he abused Cindy Clemishire in the 1980s, starting when she was 12 and he was a traveling preacher.

Probation until 2036

Clemishire went public in 2024. Morris resigned from Gateway Church, pleaded guilty in 2025, and must register as a sex offender for life.
