Toshiba starts mass production

Toshiba has started mass production of TXZ+™ Family Entry-Class M4H Group standard microcontrollers featuring an Arm® Cortex®-M4 core with floating-point unit for system control applications.

Designed for consumer and industrial use

The microcontrollers are expressly designed for use in small-scale system control applications in consumer products like air conditioners and washing machines, and industrial equipment including multifunction printers and factory automation systems.

Real-time performance required

Real-time performance required

As consumer products and industrial equipment become more sophisticated, microcontrollers must deliver real-time performance and stable operation while supporting easy system design and long-term deployment.

Entry-class with high performance

Despite being entry-class products, they employ an Arm® Cortex®-M4 core with FPU and operate at speeds up to 120MHz ensuring computing performance and real-time responsiveness for system control.

Wide voltage and oscillator range

M4H products support a supply voltage range of 2.7V to 5.5V and integrate a high-speed oscillator with ±1% accuracy to reduce external components and improve design flexibility.

Integrated system control functions

Integrated system control functions

The microcontrollers integrate basic functions required for system control including 12-bit ADC, timers, UART, SPI, I²C, DMA, and advanced programmable motor control circuit for brushless DC motor applications.

Support for development and evaluation

Toshiba supports product evaluation with documentation, sample software, and driver software for peripheral functions to help customers from initial evaluation through mass-production ramp-up.

Future product expansion

Toshiba will continue to expand design support resources and enhance its lineup of microcontroller products suitable for system control in consumer products and industrial equipment.

The takeaway

Toshiba began mass production of entry-class microcontrollers with Arm Cortex-M4 core for consumer and industrial system control applications.
