After making pro-Palestinian comments at Ed Sheeran's Loop Tour, Macklemore was removed from the lineup. He responded by pledging his net earnings from the tour to Palestinian relief organizations.

A million dollars to six nonprofits

Macklemore's pledge went to Medical Aid for Palestinians, Palestine Children's Relief Fund, UNRWA, and three other organizations. The donation came with no restrictions on how the money could be used.

Ongoing crisis despite ceasefire

Israeli operations have killed over 1,000 Palestinians since October's ceasefire. Hundreds of thousands lack healthcare access, water shortages persist, and most Gaza families still don't get enough food.

Macklemore's long track record

This wasn't Macklemore's first Palestinian donation. He previously pledged streaming royalties from protest songs 'Hind's Hall' and 'Hind's Hall 2' to UNRWA, generating over 509,000 dollars.

Ms. Rachel matches with a million

YouTube star and music teacher Ms. Rachel announced a one million dollar donation to Palestine Children's Relief Fund and called on others to match it.

Kraft and Sheeran also donate

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft said he would match Ed Sheeran's two million dollar donation for aid in the region. Kraft had reportedly pushed for Macklemore's removal from the tour.

Donations surge across platforms

Anera received more than triple its daily average in donations Wednesday. UNRWA gained 203,000 new donors since October 2023, enabling over 117 million dollars in aid. Online influencers raised an additional 72,000 dollars.

New audiences discover nonprofits

Anera gained over 8,000 new followers after Macklemore tagged the organization. Leaders hope the exposure introduces younger audiences to their work and sustains long-term support.
