“This anniversary is always a gut punch of emotions…words just can't say it all.”

Stranded in Tokyo

Martha Stewart watched the towers fall on live television from Japan, unable to reach anyone in the United States for hours to learn who had survived.

“We stayed glued to the television for news and we tried to figure out how we could get back to the United States.”

The temple coincidence

A friend sent Stewart's group to a temple in Miho for peace. It was designed by Minoru Yamasaki, the same architect who built the World Trade Center.

“As we entered the deserted temple the organ played America the Beautiful for us.”

A cross made of steel

Dean Cain shared a selfie on X with a small cross on the shelf behind his desk, forged from steel recovered from the fallen towers.

“Never Forget. The cross behind my desk is made from steel from the fallen towers.”
