Packers swap receivers on practice squad

Green Bay released Chris Hilton Jr. and signed Quincy Skinner Jr. to the practice squad on Tuesday.

Skinner's college production at Vanderbilt

Over his final three seasons, Skinner caught 66 passes for 809 yards and eight touchdowns. As a senior in 2024, he had 29 catches for 367 yards and three TDs.

Skinner's mindset as a playmaker

Before his senior season, Skinner said his goal was simple: catch the ball when it's in the air and block on the perimeter.

“When the ball's in the air, go get it. When it comes to the perimeter, go block it.”

Skinner went undrafted in 2025

He spent training camp with the Falcons, earning a 15,000 dollar signing bonus and 150,000 dollars guaranteed. He caught three passes for 29 yards in the preseason before being released.

Jets training camp and preseason success

This year, Skinner trained with the Jets, the Packers' opponent this week. He caught six passes for 78 yards, including a touchdown against Pittsburgh, but didn't make the final roster.

Brief CFL stint with Toronto

Between his time with the Falcons and Jets, Skinner was signed by the CFL's Toronto Argonauts but did not appear in any games.

Skinner's measurables and athleticism

At six-foot-one and a half, 204 pounds, Skinner ran a 4.59 forty-yard dash and scored a 6.37 Relative Athletic Score, ranking him 1,384th among receivers since 1987.

Family ties to football

Skinner's father played defensive back at Florida Atlantic, finishing with eight interceptions, two forced fumbles, and two blocked kicks.

Fiancée plays guard at Notre Dame

Skinner's fiancée is Iyana Moore, a starting guard at Notre Dame who began her college career at Vanderbilt and was born in Milwaukee.

Packers also signed defensive tackle

Green Bay signed defensive tackle Eric Johnson to the practice squad to fill the void left when Jaden Crumedy was signed to the Texans' 53-man roster.

Workout included other receiver prospects

Skinner participated in a Tuesday workout with Nick Nash from San Jose State and Bryce Oliver from Youngstown State. Nash was an All-American in 2024 with 104 catches for 1,382 yards and 16 TDs.

Practice squad has room for one more

The Packers have added five new faces to the practice squad since training camp ended and have room to sign one more player before facing the Jets.
