Giuliano Cameroni Climbs Dave Graham's V15 in Switzerland

In brief
The Swiss crusher adds another V15 to his tally of 25, crediting perfect 4°C temps for success on the compression problem. Cold conditions (4°C) can make friction-dependent boulder problems significantly easier by preventing chalk from turning slippery. Originally reported by Gripped Magazine.
Cameroni sends Adularia V15

Giuliano Cameroni topped Adularia V15 in Gottardo, Switzerland, a compression problem requiring strong heel hooks and technical toe hooks.
Cold temps made the difference
At 4°C, the rock grains kept their texture and chalk stayed effective instead of turning soapy. Previous attempts in warmer conditions failed due to greasing off.
“when it's 4°C out, this problem ceases to exist: the rock grains keep their texture and, even after 30 seconds on the wall, chalk stays chalk”
Graham's 2023 first ascent

Dave Graham established Adularia in September 2023, noting the difficulty of finding good conditions in Gottardo due to rain, fog, and heat.
“Gottardo is ultra tricky to find sending conditions considering all the rain, fog, or heat.”
Multiple strong repeats
Stefano Ghisolfi, Sam Weir, Marco Müller, and Jorge Díaz-Rullo have all repeated the problem. Díaz-Rullo topped it in just three sessions.
Cameroni's prolific record
The Swiss climber has now topped at least 25 V15s and five V16s. He's established many of Switzerland's hardest lines, including REM V16 and Poison the Well V16.
Three new lines in 2026
Cameroni has already established three hard problems in Ticino this year: Baby Shark V15, Trentatré Trentini V15, and Bim Bam Bum V13/V14.
The one thing
Cold conditions (4°C) can make friction-dependent boulder problems significantly easier by preventing chalk from turning slippery.
